Google Maps display showing wreckage locations

This wreck site lies at an altitude of about 320m on the southern escarpment of the Kilsyth Hills, north of Glasgow. The site is unusual in being so close to an urban area, and there is an excellent view from the site towards the centre of Glasgow.

There are only a small amount of remains at the site, collected in one small area. There is one fairly large piece of metal remaining. This site lies just below an area labelled 'The Banns' on the OS 1:25000 map of the area, about 3km south-east of the summit of Meikle Bin and the remains of a Fairey Firefly that crashed there in 1950 (see my page about this site here).

The PDAAR website has some pictures of this site here.

These pictures were taken in December 2009.
