I have now extrapolated all the names into alphabetic order to make it easier to
find someone. This list is in the form of an excel spreadsheet, so you will need that
software (or similar) to access the List. Please email and me let me know if
there are any errors, or if you know first names.

BAOR 1956 |
The parade ground at Winston Barracks, Lanark was used for training purposes
and for ceremonial occasions such as this passing out parade c1963. Up to 1939 the Depot
of the Cameronians was at Hamilton. In 1936 £150,000 was allocated for
rebuilding at Lanark. By the outbreak of WWII construction had begun and completed in
1941. Named Winston Barracks they were used until 1947, when the Cameronians finally took
up residence, by various training units. From 1961 the Barracks were shared by the Royal
Highland Fusiliers and the Cameronians. Both regiments moved to the Lowland Brigade Depot
at Glencorse Barracks, Edinburgh when it opened in 1964. The 52nd Lowland Division took
over the barracks until it closed in 1967.
