Cambuslang Redevelopment, late 1950's
These are some of the 'official' photos that were taken at the time Cambuslang was being 'redeveloped' in the late 50's/early 60s. These are recognisable by their quality and some having a matching street plan attached. I remember these as coloured photos which were displayed at that time on large notice boards placed at prominent places throughout the area. The boards showed 'before and after' illustrations.
At that time Cambuslang was politically the 8th District council of Hamilton. Since then it had merged with, then eventually left Glasgow administration. It would be interesting to know the current whereabouts of the the original photos. I suspect a storage area somewhere in the Hamilton area. If anyone knows...!
