In 1903, John Wallace the Janitor of Newton Public School, created a time capsule of letters and notes relating to the school and the local community. The capsule was in the wall of the Janitors house and was found by the O'Brien family from Newton and passed on to the 114 Royal Arch Lodge Cambuslang in accordance with the instructions from John Wallace. The O'Brien's owned the house until 2013 and are still local to the area.

Mr Peter Phillips, secretary of the Lodge , has kindly passed the contents of the capsule to me in order to make the images available on the internet for all to see.
