Donated by Andrew Blair - August 2016

This is my first posting to Halfway Memories. My Grandfather was James Blair General Manager of Gilbertfield Co-op. 1910 to 1935. James his wife Janet Brash and his family lived in the corner above the shop from 1910 to 1914. The family then moved to Craiglea 30 Wellside Drive Halfway. James died in1950 and his second wife Helen Jenkins stayed on at Craiglea until 1981/2. My father was born 1911 at Gilbertfield. Upon marriage he settled in Dryburgh Avenue Rutherglen where my brother John and myself were raised. The photographs represent a little of our and Halfway History
