I found your web page today & thought it was excellent. I eventually navigated to this photograph of my first proper family home. I was born at 3 Kirk Road ( or was that Cairns Road ? it passed the Preaching Braes towards Halfway ? ) which I believe was the Vicarage ( Rookery ) but moved to Janebank Ave in 1953.

My Parents had lived at 24 Park Street when they married in 1937. My Grandparents Lived at 110 Main Street in 1905 after their marriage & eventually ended up at Kirk Road even although it had been condemned as uninhabitable circa 1890.

John Mc Gough tended the Garden at St Bride's RC Church after his retirement, he died in 1952

My Father was Matt McGough, born & bred in Cambuslang ( Feb 1912 ) & universally known as " Wee Matt". He was a Bar Manager for many years in Cambuslang, Bridgeton, Cariggan's in Kirkhill, Blantyre Miner's Welfare & Clyde Supporter's Club. He died in in Overton Road in 1991 & is buried in Westburn overlooking the new housing at the Overton end of Mill Road

Please keep me up to speed with any updates & keep up the excellent work.
